Come learn the basics of beekeeping, colony health, and urban honey production. This two-hour class, hosted by a member of the San Francisco Beekeeping Association, will cover the honey bee life cycle, how to identify and treat pests and diseases, and an introduction to working with bees safely. Also learn how bees work together to make honey, pollinate flowers, and maintain colony nutrition. The class will conclude with a guided tasting of honey from our local plants.
This will be a lecture-style class with Q&A. Please bring your questions. In this class, we will not have the opportunity to open an active hive.
