Join San Francisco Public Works and your fellow neighbors for our monthly Neighborhood Beautification Day on Saturday, May 9.

Volunteer at any of the neighborhood beautification days to keep San Francisco beautiful through landscaping and gardening projects, graffiti removal, and litter cleanup in our neighborhoods.
This month, we are focusing our efforts on the green spaces of District 9. We have eight different project sites planned, and one of our featured locations is the iconic Tompkins Stairs.
Project Details
Under the guidance of our Landscape Supervisor, Robert, volunteers at the Tompkins Stairs will help revitalize the area by:
- Removing invasive weeds (like foxtail and fennel)
- Spreading fresh mulch
- Pruning plants to encourage healthy growth
- Event Schedule
- Work Window: Approximately 9:20 AM to 11:30 AM
- Celebration: A free lunch will be provided for all volunteers at the conclusion of the event.
