Cooking at the Farm: Flavors of Fall

Cooking From the Farm: Flavors of Fall
Saturday, November 7th, 10 AM – 12:30 PM – at Alemany Farm
In this workshop, participants will harvest veggies from the farm and cook with them in our outdoor kitchen
Come to Alemany Farm to explore seasonal cooking in the fall months. Learn why eating seasonally matters, how to harvest seasonal crops, and how to balance flavors in warm fall meals. Together, we will cook a few comforting dishes (vegetarian-friendly) in our outdoor kitchen and enjoy them together in community. Please bring your own knife and cutting board!
Please note: kids 15 years or older are welcome
Instructors: Tamara Kahhale and Auguste Brown
Tamara Kahhale (she/her) is a former electrical engineer turned landworker who worked in climate technology before realizing she wanted to approach the climate crisis through an agricultural, land-based lens. She has developed a deep passion for regenerative agriculture and soil health, as well as food justice and sovereignty, climate education, and community-driven practices. As the daughter of Lebanese immigrants, she has a deep connection to food and believes everyone has the right to eat culturally relevant food in ways that help the planet. She has 1.5 years of professional kitchen experience—both in the kitchen and teaching—and has been a hobby chef and baker throughout her adult life. Tamara has been part of the Alemany Farm team for 1.5 years as a workday leader and garden/nutrition coordinator.
Auguste Brown (he/him) has volunteered at Alemany since early 2025 and is an experienced home cook. Coming from a background in the climate space, Auguste is passionate about building food systems that nourish us and our planet alike. As a Bay Area native, he also gets fulfillment from a deep connection to the land and local seasonality. Auguste firmly believes in the power of food to bring people together, and has seen this firsthand at Alemany Farm. When not volunteering at the farm, Auguste works in renewable energy and is always happy to nerd out about batteries or microgrids.
