Our next monthly meeting will be via zoom on Thursday, March 16, from 7 to 8.30 pm. We’ll focus on public education, hearing from USD teachers on current contract negotiations and overall conditions, AND from City College faculty and leadership on the latest efforts to steer CCSF toward financial and operational stability.

And we are planning our second fun Politics & Pints Social at Barebottle Brewery on Wednesday, April 12, 5-7 pm. Our first one was fun and a great opportunity to mix and mingle; we’re excited to make this a regular event. Come on out!

Then, we’re planning the agenda for our April 20 meeting (just before Earth Day) to hear from several advocates working on urgent climate change solutions. Details to come, but please save the date.

Also, thanks to all who tuned in to the February meeting. Supervisor Walton updated us on efforts to create a meaningful local reparations plan for Black San Franciscans. Check out the draft report from the African American Reparations Advisory Committee. This is scheduled for a hearing with the full Board of Supervisors on March 14, 3 pm.

We heard from labor and advocates on the crisis at Laguna Honda Hospital and the race to recertify and avoid closure by federal regulators. This is scheduled for a hearing with the full Board of Supervisors on May 9.
