Alemany Farms Citrus Tree Pruning Workshop
Alemany Farm is hosting a hands-on workshop focused on the fundamentals of citrus tree care. The session is designed for anyone interested in learning the basics of tree biology and discovering how to encourage healthy, productive growth in fruit trees.

The workshop begins with a group lecture on foundational tree care principles, followed by smaller breakout groups where attendees can inspect trees up close and discuss practical pruning approaches.

Friends of Alemany Farm
Friends of Alemany Farm promotes food security and educates local residents on how to become their own food producers. The organization strives to increase ecological knowledge and habitat value while sowing the seeds for economic and environmental justice. All of the food grown at the farm is given away for free to neighbors, volunteers, The Free Farm Stand, and other community groups.
The organization pursues four main goals:
- Fostering Environmental Education: Introducing children and adults to the idea that local food production can be part of a healthy ecosystem, and inspiring visitors to start their own gardens at home.
- Boosting Food Security: Providing organic, healthy food to community members.
- Growing Leaders: Cultivating a communal, “barn-raising” ethic that encourages people to play an active role in decision-making.
- Promoting Ecological-Economic Development: Utilizing urban agriculture as a practical avenue to develop job skills.
