Affectionately known as “The People’s Market,” Alemany Farmers’ Market has been a cornerstone of the community since its establishment on August 12, 1943, and has played a key role in launching the state’s farmers’ market movement. Managed by Foodwise in partnership with the City and County of San Francisco, the market features a diverse community of more than 80 small family farms and local food businesses focused on local food, affordability, and accessibility.
