Alemany Farm Harvest Festival

October 26 @ 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Harvest Festival Bernal Heights

Please join us at the Alemany Farm for the annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 26th!

Alemany Farm is a 3.5-acre organic farm ecosystem run almost entirely by volunteers. Last year, the farm produced a whopping 25,000 pounds of food, all given away for free to community members.

Managed by the Friends of Alemany Farm, this urban farm aims to promote food security and ecological knowledge in the community. It also strives to sow the seeds of economic and environmental justice while fostering environmental education for children and adults.

In pursuit of these goals, the farm offers horticulture, volunteer, and educational programs. These programs introduce visitors to the idea that local food production can be part of a healthy ecosystem. The farm also encourages visitors to start their gardens at home by providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to do so.

Additionally, Alemany Farm is promoting ecological-economic development by using urban agriculture to develop job skills in the community. Finally, by fostering a communal ethic of barn-raising, they are growing leaders and encouraging people to play active decision-making roles in their community.

If you’re interested in getting your hands dirty and learning how to grow your food, Alemany Farm welcomes volunteers of all ages and skill levels. Join this thriving urban farm ecosystem and take some fresh organic produce home!
