LAS MURALISTAS: OUR WALLS, OUR STORIES

Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema presents Face-to-Face with the Filmmaker Las Muralistas on Tuesday, May 28th. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the Show begins at 6:30 p.m.
The community is invited to a special in-person screening of the documentary “Las Muralistas: Our Walls, Our Stories” (28 mins). This powerful film highlights the women muralists whose vibrant public artworks adorn the walls of San Francisco’s Mission District. Beginning in the 1970s, these muralists sparked a tradition of activism, self-expression, and community building through their mural paintings.
After screening the 28-minute documentary, there will be a Q&A with filmmaker/producer Camilo Garzón and hear from Bernal-based muralists Susan Cervantes/Precita Eyes Muralists and Elaine Chu and Marina Perez-Wong of Twin Wall Mural Company.
This is a unique opportunity to meet with the artists and storytellers behind this impactful documentary celebrating the muralists’ enduring legacy.
Seating is limited, so guests must register via Eventbrite. Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the event will start promptly at 6:30 pm.
