Free Yoga at the Alemany Farm
Free yoga for the Alemany Farm community returns on Saturday, August 22, from 10:30 to 11:30 am. This Hatha Yoga class with Alemany Farm volunteer Cyrelle McDonald is sponsored by San Francisco Recreation & Parks and is a special offering for the Alemany Farm community!
No experience necessary; all mats and props provided. Kids 8 and older are welcome as well, with a parent present.

Cyrelle McDonald is an Ayurvedic Yoga practitioner who teaches weekly Hatha Yoga classes through SF Recreation & Parks. Her classes are a blend of strong, yet gentle poses, deep breathing, and meditation, geared towards all levels of experience. Suitable for beginners and mixed levels. Cyrelle is very passionate about being part of the community and making yoga accessible to everyone.
Friends of Alemany Farm
Friends of Alemany Farm promotes food security and educates local residents on how to become their own food producers. The organization strives to increase ecological knowledge and habitat value while sowing the seeds for economic and environmental justice. All of the food grown at the farm is given away for free to neighbors, volunteers, The Free Farm Stand, and other community groups.
The organization pursues four main goals:
- Fostering Environmental Education: Introducing children and adults to the idea that local food production can be part of a healthy ecosystem, and inspiring visitors to start their own gardens at home.
- Boosting Food Security: Providing organic, healthy food to community members.
- Growing Leaders: Cultivating a communal, “barn-raising” ethic that encourages people to play an active role in decision-making.
- Promoting Ecological-Economic Development: Utilizing urban agriculture as a practical avenue to develop job skills.
