Founded in 1988, the Bernal Heights Democratic Club (BHDC) is a chartered Democratic club organized to give the residents of Bernal Heights an effective voice in government through active participation in the electoral process.
About the Bernal Heights Democratic Club:
The club’s mission is to research issues and candidates, educate and mobilize the community through political activities, including community forums and slate card development and distribution, and promote public awareness of these issues.
Endorsements of candidates and issues reflect the club’s overarching goal, which is to maintain the neighborhood’s economic and cultural diversity by working to further economic and social justice for all residents.

“The Bernal Heights Democratic Club was organized to give the residents of Bernal Heights an effective voice in government through active participation in the electoral process. Our mission is to research vital issues and candidates and to educate and mobilize the community through various political actions, including precinct work, forums, and slate card distribution. Through implementing our mission, we hope to maintain this neighborhood’s economic and cultural diversity and work to further economic and social justice for all residents.”
