February 27 @ 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Lágrimas del Valle Tequila Tasting @ SF Tequila Shop

A Journey Through the Ranch: Lágrimas del Valle Tasting

Where: SF Tequila Shop

When: Friday, Feb 27 | 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Elevate your Friday evening with a pour of something truly rare. Join us for an exclusive tasting of Lágrimas del Valle, a tequila that treats agave like fine wine.

Most tequilas are a blend of harvests, but Lágrimas is Vintage-Dated and sourced from a “Rancho Unico” (Single Ranch). This means every sip captures the specific soil, weather, and spirit of a single plot of land in Jalisco.

Why You Can’t Miss This:

The Pedigree: Produced in collaboration with the legendary Rosales family at the Cascahuín distillery (NOM 1123)—gold standard names for tequila purists.

The Terroir: Experience how “Rancho Unico” production creates distinct flavor profiles that vary from harvest to harvest.

The Craft: Learn the stories behind the brand while sampling expressions that represent the pinnacle of traditional brick-oven cooking and tahona milling.

Admission: Complimentary / Open to the public (21+)

About SF Tequila Shop: San Francisco’s Agave Sanctuary

Located in the heart of the Bernal Heights neighborhood, SF Tequila Shop is more than just a local bottle shop—it is a “temple of agave” and a premier destination for spirits enthusiasts across Northern California.

The Story

The shop is a third-generation family legacy. The story began with Nirmal Singh Malhi, who immigrated to California in the 1980s. After years of working the fields in the Central Valley, the family opened their first liquor store in Modesto in 1993. Over the decades, the focus shifted toward a deep specialization in agave spirits. Today, the third generation, led by Amandip “Moose” Malhi and Scott, carries that tradition forward at their flagship location on Cortland Avenue.

What Sets Them Apart

Massive Selection: Boasting over 1,000 different styles of agave spirits, it is widely considered to have the largest selection in San Francisco.

The “Agave Universe”: While Tequila is the star, the shop specializes in the full spectrum of Mexican spirits, including Mezcal, Bacanora, Raicilla, and Sotol, as well as Mexican wines and rums.

A “Craft Beer Gem”: Surprisingly, the shop is also a top-tier destination for craft beer lovers, stocking rare and sought-after releases from local favorites like Cellarmaker, Barebottle, and Alvarado Street.

Expert Curation: The staff is known for their deep technical knowledge and for prioritizing additive-free brands and traditional production methods (such as tahona milling and brick-oven cooking).

Community & Culture

SF Tequila Shop is a cornerstone of the Bernal Heights merchant corridor. From organizing the annual Tequila Crawl to hosting weekly educational tastings, the shop focuses on moving agave spirits away from “college party” stereotypes and toward the respect typically reserved for fine whiskey or cognac.

Location: 801 Cortland Ave, San Francisco, CA 94110

Specialties: Agave Spirits, Mexican Wine, Rare Craft Beer, and Monthly Subscription Clubs.
