Come satisfy your cravings for authentic Swedish treats and a very special menu feature. \nHej Hej is back on Cortland! \nCandy Store Hours\n\n\nThursday: 11:00 am to 6:00 pm \n\n\nFriday: 11:00 am to 6:00 pm \n\n\nSaturday: 11:00 am to 7:00 pm \n\n\nSunday: 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm \n\n\nHot Dog Special\nJoin them on Saturday\, July 11\, starting at 4:00 pm until they sell out. They are excited to feature a brand new\, must-try Strawberry Relish dog! \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nWe look forward to seeing the neighborhood for a sweet and savory weekend. \nMeet Chef Hej Hej a.k.a Amelia Eudailey\nAmelia has been sharing Swedish food traditions with those around her for as long as she can remember. While she grew up in Colorado\, she regularly visited her Swedish family through adulthood and has fond memories of eating strawberries with milk on the porch during Midsommar. \nAmelia wouldn’t be Swedish without having an obsession with candy\, and she regularly requires at least two pounds of the “godis” to come home with her on every trip. \nAfter moving to San Francisco from Denver\, CO\, in 2020\, Amelia immediately became enamored with the food scene. Deciding that her tech career needed a shift\, she worked as a line cook at the former Michelin-star restaurant Octavia in San Francisco. Here\, she had the privilege of working with the freshest farm produce and learning unique fermentation techniques\, as well as fundamentals in food prep and storage\, cooking at scale\, and running a service. \nSoon after\, she launched “Hej Hej Swedish Hot Dogs”\, her pop-up and private chef concept. She started carrying custom mixes of her childhood favorite Swedish candies in 2022. \n“Hej Hej” can be found across the Bay Area and around various parts of New Mexico. \nAmelia is currently searching for the perfect location for her first brick-and-mortar concept\, “Hej Hej Swedish Candy + Hot Dogs“. \nCatch her at an upcoming pop-up and experience the wonderful world of Swede-ish hot dogs! \nSan Francisco Food & Drink Fest\nBernal ConnectMike Doherty serves as Chief Experience Officer at Greening Projects\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming underutilized urban spaces into vibrant green areas

SUMMARY:Exploring Ancestral Terroirs: Salvadores Mezcal Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Exploring Ancestral Terroirs: Salvadores Mezcal Tasting\nAgave enthusiasts can mark their calendars for an afternoon of exploration\, heritage\, and deeply complex flavors to kick off the weekend. Whether a seasoned connoisseur or just beginning to explore the vast world of traditional agave spirits\, this is a lineup that should not be missed. \nEvent Details\nWhat: Salvadores Mezcal Tasting\nWhere: SF Tequila Shop\, 801 Cortland Ave\, San Francisco\, CA\nWhen: Saturday\, June 27th\, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM \nHonoring Oaxacan Heritage: The Story of Salvadores\nSalvadores Mezcal stands as a testament to family tradition spanning generations. Rooted deeply in the community of Tlacolula de Matamoros\, Oaxaca\, the brand’s history dates back to the early 1900s when the current producer’s great-grandfather first began crafting spirit from local maguey. \nOver generations of meticulous knowledge transfer\, the family built their modern Casa Palacios Destilería in 2019 and officially registered the Salvadores brand in 2020 to bring their ancestral methods to the global stage. Every bottle represents a dedication to preserving the craft through high-quality\, artisanal production methods. \nTraditional Production Methods\nWhat makes Salvadores stand out on the shelf is an uncompromising commitment to time-honored\, rustic techniques that highlight the true essence of the plant and its environment: \n\nCooking: Agave hearts (piñas) are slowly roasted in traditional earthen conical pits to develop a rich\, complex smokiness.\nCrushing: The cooked agave is crushed using a traditional heavy tahona stone wheel.\nFermentation: Wild fermentation takes place naturally in open-air wooden tubs.\nDistillation: The mash undergoes a careful double distillation process in traditional copper alembic stills to refine the spirit while locking in delicate aromas.\n\nEvent Gathering on Cortland Avenue\nVisitors can stop by the shop to meet fellow agave lovers\, discuss traditional production styles\, and find their next favorite bottle under the guidance of the SF Tequila Shop team. There is no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Bernal Heights than savoring the rich\, diverse terroirs of Oaxaca. \nBernal ConnectMike Doherty serves as Chief Experience Officer at Greening Projects\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming underutilized urban spaces into vibrant green areas

SUMMARY:Beyond Tequila: Discovering the Hidden Gems of Mexican Wine
DESCRIPTION:Beyond Tequila: Discovering the Hidden Gems of Mexican Wine\nWhen you think of exceptional Mexican beverages\, world-class tequila and traditional mezcal are usually the first to come to mind. But a quiet revolution is happening across Mexico’s vineyards. From the high-altitude valleys of Central Mexico to the coastal breezes of Baja California\, Mexican winemaking is stepping into the global spotlight. \nTo celebrate this exciting movement\, SF Tequila Shop is hosting an exclusive tasting event featuring three incredible bottles that perfectly capture the diversity\, innovation\, and terroir of modern Mexican wine. \nThe Lineup: Three Bottles Changing the Narrative\nOur featured flight moves from crisp\, high-altitude whites to a deeply structured\, elegant red. Here is what we are pouring: \nTerra Mädi Sauvignon Blanc (Querétaro)\n\nThe Vibe: Crisp\, clean\, and vibrant.\nThe Region: Querétaro\, located in Central Mexico\, is famous for its high-altitude viticulture.\nThe extreme elevation brings cool nights and warm days\, creating a Sauvignon Blanc with bright citrus notes\, striking acidity\, and a beautiful mineral finish. It delivers tropical fruit notes balanced by a clean\, lingering finish.\n\nTorre de Tierra Tempranillo / Cabernet Sauvignon (Guanajuato)\n\nThe Vibe: Bold\, structured\, and sophisticated.\nThe Region: Crafted by Cuna de Tierra in historic Dolores Hidalgo\, Guanajuato\, this red blend shows just how sophisticated Mexican terroir can be.\nOld World grapes meet New World climate to offer deep\, dark fruit\, subtle baking spices\, and beautifully integrated tannins.\n\nJoin Us for the Tasting\nReady to explore these bottles for yourself?
