DESCRIPTION:Cooking at Alemany Farm: A Lebanese Experience\nSunday\, September 27\, 10:30 am – 1 pm\nInstructor: Tamara Kahhale\nSuggested Donation: $55 per person (includes materials and ingredients); no one will be turned away for lack of funds \nCome to Alemany Farm for a full cooking workshop! Learn more about the importance (and fun!) of eating seasonally\, how to harvest seasonal crops\, and work through some basic cooking instructions (knife skills\, anyone?). Together\, we will cook a few dishes in our outdoor kitchen and enjoy them in lovely early fall. The menu will be Lebanese-inspired and vegetarian (vegan options available). \nPlease bring your own knife and cutting board. \nPlease note: Kids 15 years or older are welcome \nTamara Kahhale (she/her) is a former electrical engineer turned landworker who worked in the climate technology solutions space before realizing she wanted to approach the climate crisis through an agricultural and land-based lens. She has developed a deep passion for regenerative agriculture and soil health\, food justice and sovereignty\, climate education\, and community-driven practices. As the daughter of Lebanese immigrants\, she has a deep connection to food and believes that everyone has a right to eat culturally relevant food in a way that does not harm the planet. \nShe has one and a half years of professional kitchen experience\, both in the kitchen and in teaching\, and has been a hobby chef and baker throughout her adult life. Tamara has been part of the Alemany Farm team for 1.5 years as a regular farm volunteer and workday leader. \nCalendar – Bernal Heights and Beyond\nBernal ConnectMike Doherty serves as Chief Experience Officer at Greening Projects\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming underutilized urban spaces into vibrant green areas
