SUMMARY:DWIGHT ESCHLIMAN | Excerpts from the One Day Project
DESCRIPTION:DWIGHT ESCHLIMAN | Excerpts from the One Day Project\nMichelle Thomas Fine Art Gallery + Studio invites you to ONE DAY by photographer Dwight Eschliman\, on view now\, with an exhibition reception on Friday\, October 23\, 5–7 pm. \nEschliman’s latest project catalogs time.\nEach day consists of 24 hours. Each hour\, 60 minutes. Each minute\, 60 seconds. For each execution\, the artist photographs one static point in the sky every second for 24 consecutive hours. Each of these 86\,400 photographs then becomes a pixel in a larger composition. \nThe finished pieces are produced in sizes from 18 to 72 inches and include one-hour and 24-hour time spans. The project includes over 100 editioned pieces from four continents. \nEschliman’s depiction of each second of a day at once abstracts and reinterprets it\, offering a fresh perspective on place and the passage of time. \nThe ONE DAY project has appeared in the American Photography AP40 contest and the Communication Arts 2024 Interactive Annual. It will appear in American Photography AP42 later this year. Works from the collection are held in private and institutional collections\, most notably at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. \nOn view through November 2\, 2026.\nDwight Eschliman has been working out of his studio in San Francisco’s SOMA neighborhood for the last twenty years. His work is rooted in his fascination with the familiar. He dissects and explores ordinary objects in extraordinary detail\, his passion for close examination earning him a reputation as a master of capturing beauty hidden within the mundane. His work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine\, National Geographic\, WIRED and in campaigns for Absolut\, Apple\, Audi\, and other companies whose names do not begin with the letter “A.” \nCalendar – Bernal Heights and Beyond\nBernal ConnectMike Doherty serves as Chief Experience Officer at Greening Projects\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming underutilized urban spaces into vibrant green areas

SUMMARY:Friendship Framed – Catherine Mackey | Diane Olivier | Laurie Wigham
DESCRIPTION:Friendship Framed – Catherine Mackey | Diane Olivier | Laurie Wigham\nOctober 22 – November 22\, 2026 \nOpening Reception: Saturday\, October 24\, 5-7 PM \nArtist Talk: November 14\, 2-3 PM \nFriendship Framed: Ten Years of Visual Dialogue\nInclusions Gallery is delighted to present Friendship Framed\, a compelling three-person exhibition celebrating a decade of shared artistic exploration between San Francisco artists Catherine Mackey\, Diane Olivier\, and Laurie Wigham. \nThe story of Friendship Framed began in San Francisco’s local art community\, where Diane and Catherine first connected in a figure drawing class at City College\, and later brought Laurie into the circle after meeting at an SF Sketch Crawl. Over the past ten years\, this initial connection evolved into a deep creative partnership built on trust\, curiosity\, and joint discovery. \nTogether\, the three artists have traveled extensively on drawing trips\, capturing environments ranging from the industrial history of Mare Island and the open expanses of Sierra Valley to urban landscapes in Los Angeles and locations across Europe. While these shared journeys often lead to overlapping subject matter\, each artist responds through her own distinct lens\, medium\, and practice. \nFeatured Artists\nCatherine Mackey: Originally a commercial interior architect from London\, Catherine has spent 30 years in the Bay Area building a rich practice across painting\, printmaking\, and drawing. Based in her studio at 1890 Bryant St. in San Francisco’s Mission District\, her work is held in private and public collections across the United States\, Europe\, and Australia. \nDiane Olivier: A Bay Area resident since 1990\, Diane taught drawing at City College of San Francisco for nearly three decades (1991 to 2020). A dedicated educator and community builder\, she regularly hosts drop-in figure drawing sessions at her SF studio\, leads monthly outdoor pastel meetups\, and guides annual drawing workshops abroad. \nLaurie Wigham: After nearly 30 years as a graphic designer in the tech industry\, Laurie stepped away from screens to immerse herself in watercolor painting. She co-founded the SF Sketchers Meetup group in 2012\, which has grown to thousands of members. Laurie captures both wilderness and cityscapes\, and has taught at SF State University’s Sierra Nevada Field Campus\, the Academy of Art University\, and through national park artist residencies. \nExhibition Overview\nFriendship Framed highlights how individual expression and collaborative spirit can coexist without competition. By bringing together oil and found paper assemblages\, pastels\, and watercolors\, the exhibition offers a rare look at how three distinct voices influence and elevate one another through a sustained\, ten-year visual conversation. \nCalendar – Bernal Heights and Beyond\nBernal ConnectMike Doherty serves as Chief Experience Officer at Greening Projects\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming underutilized urban spaces into vibrant green areas
