ACRYLIC PAINTING WORKSHOP with KRISTEN BROWN

About the workshop: Join artist Kristen Brown for this informative and fun step-by-step demonstration using Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylics. Kristen will share the attributes of acrylic paint while guiding participants through the steps of creating a painting of water that sparkles and glows, emphasizing the play of light and reflection. Whether you are a novice or an experienced painter, Kristen will reveal the unique properties of acrylic paint and share tips and techniques for enhancing your painting skills. This workshop is designed for all skill levels, welcoming participants aged 12 and up (an adult must accompany those under 18). All materials, including a free paint sample, will be provided for each attendee to take home.

About the artist: Kristen Brown is a San Francisco-based painter (Bernal Heights resident for over ten years) originally from Saskatchewan, Canada. She has been an arts educator for nearly 20 years and is currently an artist and representative for Liquitex and Winsor & Newton art materials. Her work explores the themes of dissociation, transience, memory, and truth. She has exhibited at the de Young Museum, San Francisco Arts Commission, Joyce Gordon Gallery, and CICA Museum in South Korea. Kristen has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation in Montreal. Kristen’s work has been featured in Fresh Paint Magazine (now Create Magazine), Relish Magazine, Art Maze Magazine, and other publications. She holds a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Saskatchewan and an MFA in Painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
